This might not answer your question, how ever I did a little trick that makes a world of difference to my ridding comfort. I switched the left front over to the right front and the right front to the left front (traded places). I swear that this is the way they should have been mounted in the first place. The pegs are mounted at an angle from horizontal as you can easily see and by changing the angles (as described) a different rubber surface is against the sole of your shoe and is ergonomically correct. I also think that the foot pegs should be longer!
Since this improvement I have gone a step farther and made my self some running board footpads out of some bar mounted running board accessory parts.
I am a machinist so I can do such modifications.
